China Suspends Several US Beef Plants From Exporting Products to China

Some overseas meat exporters have been suspended after a recent customs announcement revealed that Ractopamine was detected in import tests. Up to now, a total of 5 plants have been suspended due to Ractopamine detection

 

Some overseas meat exporters have been suspended after a recent customs announcement revealed that Ractopamine was detected in import tests. Up to now, a total of 5 plants have been suspended due to Ractopamine detection:

 

44904 -- California -- beef exported to China -- Since June 15, 2022

426 -- California -- beef exported to China -- Since August 11, 2022.

20845 -- Nebraska -- frozen cattle louvers -- Since October 1, 2022.

630 -- Idaho -- frozen bovine heart tube -- Since October 27, 2022.

19879 -- California -- frozen bovine heart tubes -- Since November 2, 2022

 

The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has added a caption to its export library entry for China-specific consultations, reminding U.S. exporters of China's ban policy on Ractopamine in products exported to China. USDA now is working with its counterparts in China to address these suspensions and China's regulation of Ractopamine.
