As for the egg wholesale market, its wholesale prices touch the highest point at 1.72 $/kg on 10 Sept, and after that, showing a slightly downward trend. The average price of eggs is 1.71 $/kg (11.64 yuan/kg) in Sept, increased a little from 1.56 $/kg (10.47 yuan/kg) YoY.

With the boosting of the autumn semester and the National Day, pork and egg consumption demand is heating up, and the price increased. Besides, some regions are restricted by the Covid-19 control, bringing up more willingness of residents to stock up on foods at home. To ensure the smooth operation of the supply and price of pork market. In Sept, the central and local governments put in about 200,000 tons of government pork reserves in total. The quantity put in in a single month reached the highest level in history, and the price put in was lower than the market price. So although the price is increasing during the whole Sept, it’s within a reasonable range.
