On September 19, GACC updates the news that Uruguayan beef plant 22 will be resumed to export to China the products that meet Chinese requirements since Sept 19, 2022.

The plant 22 belongs to Matadero Rosario (RondatelS.A.), a Chinese-invested plant that was approved to export to China as early as 2015.

It was banned from exporting beef and mutton products shipped to China from Sept 30 last year. It's officially announced that the reason was due to the different descriptions of the frozen beef fat products.

In early June 2022, the Chinese authority conducted an online inspection to access whether the plant would regain the qualification to export to China.

More than 90% of the plant's products are exported to China, thus the suspension of the export business brought the stagnant deadlock of the slaughtering activities. No live cattle slaughter data has been displayed since Oct 2021, only with 80 heads in the first two weeks of June 2022 and 13 more in the last week of July.

Now as the resumption order is published, it's expected that slaughtering and production activities will return to normal. At present, all 25 Uruguay beef plants exporting to China are in a normal state.
