On Jun 11, GACC (China’s customs) announced that the import of Pakistani heat-treated beef processed products that meet relevant requirements is permitted.

The approved Pakistani heat-treated beef processed products refer to meat products made from boneless skeletal muscles of cattle that are under 30 months old. The product is firstly made by cattle slaughtering and bleeding with the removal of hair, viscera, head, tail, and limbs (below the carpus and tarsus), and then subjected to heat treatment after pre-deboning and defatting. The internal core temperature must reach a minimum of 70°C and be maintained for at least 30 minutes. Products that made of diaphragm, minced meat, ground meat, minced fat, mechanically separated meat, or other by-products into China are prohibited.

The specific list of Pakistani plants has not yet been published on the official website of the customs. The new access of Pakistani beef is part of China's ongoing efforts to broaden its list of beef source countries. This year, Chinese customs has made updates of beef plants from supplying countries. It has added 9 new plants from 4 countries and resumed operations at 27 plants from 2 countries.
