China Agrees to Resume Brazilian Beef Export to China

Brazil could resume exporting boneless beef under 30 months of age to China from March 23, 2023. While the relevant products at the point of entry, the customs will implement inspection and quarantine in accordance with the law to ensure compliance with China's safety and health requirements.

Brazil independently suspended beef exports to China on Feb 23, 2023 due to atypical cases of mad cow disease occurred in Brazil. The General Administration of Customs attaches great importance to this, and the Brazilian side conducted several rounds of technical consultations, the organization of experts on the Brazilian mad cow disease prevention and control system for risk assessment. After assessment, Brazil's mad cow disease prevention and control system in line with the Chinese side of the relevant quarantine and health requirements. GACC released the announcement that Brazilian boneless beef(under the age of 30 months) would be resumed exporting to China since Mar 23. While the relevant products at the point of entry, the customs will implement inspection and quarantine in accordance with the law to ensure compliance with China's safety and health requirements.
