On Dec 28, GACC announced that as of Jan 8, 2023, measures such as nucleic acid monitoring and detection for coronavirus in the port link of all imported cold chain food and non cold chain goods will be canceled.

From Global Supply Department of OIG, we saw many changes at Chinese ports:

First, the cancellation of nucleic acid monitoring and detection and preventive disinfection at ports makes the import process more convenient and efficient.

Second, the customs has introduced a number of measures to improve the level of customs clearance facilitation. After the cancellation of epidemic prevention measures, the level of customs clearance facilitation is higher than before.

Third, the opening of inbound personnel will improve the problem of crew turnover, and ocean freight and supply chain management will resume as before.

-Yantian:

The maximum queue time of the supervised warehouse is 7 days, and the normal queue time is 2-4 days. Now there is no need to wait. After the declaration, the products can be out on the same day, so that no overdue fee will be generated.

-Shanghai:

1. Before picking up goods from the Shanghai Port Area, the cold storage is no longer reserved through the Single Window system.

2. For the imported cold-chain food entering the production and processing enterprises in the local city, the sterilization certificate containing the product batch information and the nucleic acid test negative certificate will not be checked, and the "three special" management (special channel, special area storage, special counter sales) will not be implemented.

3. The risk monitoring of COVID-19 will no longer be carried out for imported cold chain food and its outer packaging sold in this city.

With the ease of port policy, China's port clearance has become more convenient, which has greatly reduced the import cost of Chinese buyers and promoted the trade and circulation of imported cold chain food in the future.
