Thailand and China have strengthened cooperation in quarantine and food safety. Relevant Chinese ministries plan to accept Thailand's suggestions, including opening live cattle, live shrimp, and fruit markets to Thailand. Several issues were discussed such as quarantine, food safety, etc. In this meeting, China agreed with several suggestions from the Thailand side to sign a memorandum of understanding to reduce agricultural trade barriers, which were listed as follows:

1. Export of live freshwater long-arm prawns (also known as Thai shrimp, Macrobrachium rosenbergii) for consumption from Thailand. Thai shrimp is beneficial to human health, and Chinese people have a preference for Thai food, such as Tom Yum Kung, roasted shrimp, etc. It is a great opportunity for Thai food companies to export products to China.

2. To open the live cattle market is a policy that Thai government attaches great importance to. It will give farmers the opportunity to transport live cattle directly to China through land transportation or the China-Laos railway.

3. Set an electronic certificate system between business cooperation. The two countries will also hold technical discussions to promote bilateral cooperation, which will help export agricultural products from Thailand to China. At the same time, it also agreed on exporting Thai fruits through mixed transportation routes, especially during the peak fruit season in Thailand.
